A Mission Is Born
In 2013, Somali Diaspora Network was founded in Seattle by Somali community leaders committed to addressing educational, humanitarian, economic, and social challenges through meaningful collaboration.
Expanding Our Reach
In 2014, SDN launched a pilot chapter in Garbahare, Gedo Region, Somalia, advancing education, community support, and capacity-building initiatives that encouraged sustainable local development.
Building Stronger Partnerships
Over the following years, SDN expanded its network by connecting diaspora leaders, local organizations, and global partners to strengthen education, workforce development, humanitarian assistance, and peacebuilding.
Looking Ahead
Today, SDN continues serving Washington State, Somalia, East Africa, and Somali communities worldwide, creating opportunities through collaboration, resilience, and programs that generate lasting, measurable impact.
